Manali, one of the most attractive tourist spots across travelers, located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, Manali is a perfect spot to spend some quality time with your friends and family. Last week before Christmas, I decided to explore Manali to see what unexpected I could find, and then everything I explored during my journey was more than just unexpected. The city is very crowded especially if you go on peak season or during winters, many of the roads towards cities are fully packed.

So we started our journey from Delhi, and it took us approx. 15 hours to reach Manali while driving we have witnessed some of the beautiful scenic locations which amazed us throughout our journey.

Manali has as many places to explore, while on our trip we witnessed some of the must-visit places to see in Manali


1. Visit Vashisht temple

Vashisht is a village located around 3 km from Manali across the Beas river, This village is famous for 3 main temples dedicated to lord shiva, Rama, and guru vashisht. Vashisht has a very fresh atmosphere with a large number of tourists coming here to see the beautiful architecture of these beautiful temples, Also this place is also the starting trek point towards Jogini waterfall, which is almost 40-45 minutes from Here.

2. Explore Hidimba Devi Temple :

Hidimba temple is located on the hilltop of Manali, it’s an ancient cave temple dedicated to Devi Hidimba, wife of Bhima. This temple was built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh in 1553, the temple was surrounded by dhungiri van vihara, Hundreds of cedar trees around this beautiful temple make the atmosphere really beautiful.

Hidimba temple is one of the beautifully designed temples in Manali, where the architecture of Hidimba attracted almost everyone, with three square roofs covered with timber and a fourth brass cone-shaped roof at the top.

3. Evening at Mall Road, Manali :

Mall road is one of the main attractions in Manali, with Hundreds of colorful shops with thousand of tourists roaming around. Mall road has showrooms, department stores, restaurants, cafes, and Handicraft products. A way to the end takes you to the famous mall road monastery. Mall road is nowadays clean and very well decorated as this place has become the tourist hub in the city, if you looking to shop something as souvenir or gift for the special one, then you must need to explore mall road.

4. The Magical Rohtang Pass :

Rohtang is probably the hotspot area of the whole Manali, as tourists visit here to witness the white snow world, 60 km of drive from Manali to this mesmerizing location crossing new constructed 9 km long Atal Tunnel, which directly took us to this magical place. Rohtang pass is like a dream place, where mountains, land, river trees everything you see would have been covered in snow, we were expecting to see some snowfall, but wasn’t lucky still we managed to explore the beauty of Rohtang valley.

5.Paragliding at Solang Valley :

Valley of activities, Solang valley is 13 km from Manali, located with beautiful scenic Himalayan mountains. Apart from a snow point, this location is famous for paragliding, once you reach this beautiful valley, you would notice people are having fun with different activities. Solang is the perfect location for doing paragliding, The price for paragliding in soland valley is 1000 & 3000 for Low fly and HIgh fly, although the amount is negotiable at the booking counter.

Overall, Manali is a perfect destination to spend some days, This Hill station is welcoming tourists 24×7. The city has a lot to explore while roaming around. Meanwhile, You can trek to jogini waterfall starting from vashisht temple or you can explore the beautiful van vihar or you can hit the road exploring offbeat local dishes.

With hundreds of hotels, camping resorts, and hostels, this city has everything to make sure you got what you deserve.
