The coronavirus pandemic affects everyone in our society, But it affects the Tourism industry the most, even though we were the first one to be affected by this epidemic and maybe the last one to be cured.  But still, the relevant question Is How Does Covid Affect Tourism ?

More than 10 percent of the global workforce is employed by the tourism industry. Millions of jobs in the global tourism industry could be lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has impacted traveling like no other event in history and caused 96 percent of all worldwide destinations to introduce restrictions in response to the outbreak, the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO)  said.

“According to research carried out for the new report, as of April 6, 96% of all worldwide destinations have introduced travel restrictions in response to the pandemic. Around 90 destinations have completely or partially closed their borders to tourists, while a further 44 are closed to certain tourists depending on country of origin,”

 As of now, we understand that we have to Deal with this virus for maybe more years, till everything will become normal, we definitely need to make a change in our lifestyle so as Tourism.

Tourism isn’t going to be the same as it was before, Maybe we have to find a new definition of tourism. People will not be easily convinced to travel even after this pandemic, So here it’s the Responsibility of both –  Holiday Makers & Tourists to make more efforts to plan a safe and secure way to bring back the same confidence within the tourists for traveling after Coronavirus.

People are frustrated sitting inside houses over the months with this amid Lockdown, so people will need a place to relax their mindset once this situation turns out to be normal. Travel will be back — it has to be back, for too many livelihoods and economies.

From last some years, we notice Travelers first choice is to travel in a foreign country, instead of exploring the domestic part of their countries. But from now onward we will notice a boom in the domestic sector, As it will not be easy to travel abroad. People likely intend to go more on road trips, Maybe trekking mountains trends more, People will find more interest in exploring its own World heritage sites.

 It’s obvious that we have to follow the social distance for maybe more years, so Airlines will likely follow the same for upcoming years. Hence, Middle seats in flights are likely to be empty because of social distancing. This means airlines will have to raise ticket prices to meet their costs which means your travel cost will go High, As Flight tickets play an important role in tour plans.


3. TOUGHER SECURITY CHECKS

Travelling after Coronavirus will not be easy as before, getting international visas will be harder. We will expect to have a full medical certificate before traveling abroad. Maybe tougher questions will be faced by the immigration officers. You are likely to face a medical check on the departing airport to arrive at the airport or maybe a little cough or fever will lead you to be quarantined.


4. REDUCE TRAVEL TAXES

Most Dependent tourism countries will likely reduce taxes or maybe will start issuing no-cost visas to attract tourism. Countries like the Maldives, British Virgin island or Seychelles which is not much affected by Coronavirus Pandemic where Economy Much Depend on tourism. These Efforts are likely to give some relief in taxes to attract tourists.

An unpredictable itinerary for an unpredictable situation, Hotels & Airlines will likely offer more flexibility as easy cancellation Policy or Modify Dates while booking. Travel Agencies will likely come up with even for flexible tour itinerary which will be easy to Reschedule. This will not only help travelers act accordingly as per situations but Also Built confidence among tourists to travel.


6. FAMILY TRAVEL

Travel Can Rewire your Brain. Since everyone is fully stressed with this epidemic. Travel will make a come back to help people to back on track. So this time there will be a sudden increase in family travel as well, solo traveling was in trend for last many years, but as of now, we are likely to expect a huge surge in Family Travel. Also, we are expecting more road trips rather than flying anywhere else in the near future.

As we are going to expect a Boom in Domestic travel, people are intending to explore more within their country. People will look for new activities such as trek summits on mountains, water activities, Cooking classes, Bicycle city tours, or maybe we are likely to go more towards Eco-Tourism such as Helping to Create a Green atmosphere. For more further years we are hoping for travelers to explore beyond nature.


8. ONLINE PLATFORM LIKELY TO BOOST

The online traffic of digital platforms has increased by 50% worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic, As many people stay and work from home to help curb the infection rate. Hotels are likely to make a direct booking with even more flexibility. Tourism, gaming, e-commerce everyone expects to get a hit after this epidemic. Even people are likely to book their tour plans online without going somewhere.


9. RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL

The Coronavirus Pandemic teaches us the importance of the environment around us. Over the years we have just destroyed nature but now people will need to understand that everything in this universe doesn’t belong to us, People will become more conscious about the environment.  Eco-Tourism will lead the way. Tourists and Holidaymakers intend to create an environment without damaging it or disturbing Habitats.


10. REDUCE BUSINESS TRAVEL

There are 445 million business trips every year. Business travelers make up 12% of an airline’s passengers. Obviously, this will affect tourism, As we are expecting there will be no further Business traveling after Coronavirus in near future. Instead, online video calling platforms such as Webinars, Zoom, or Skype are expected to replace town hall meetings. No such Conferences, Meetings, incentives will likely be organized to avoid social gatherings and to maintain social distancing.


TRAVEL WILL BE BACK – IT HAS TO BE BACK


Since we all are adopting a new lifestyle amid Coronavirus Pandemic. Tourism is also planning a huge change in itself, and these changes will boost not only the tourism players back as well the economy.
